am so excited to tell you about the Apex
Fun Run event coming to our school for the next two weeks! The Apex
program teaches leadership and fitness to our students who are raising pledges
for the Fun Run next Thursday, May 21st.
This
year's character theme is Apex Extreme, where students will join
the Apex team in a nationwide Extreme Race to learn what it means to become an
Extreme Leader:

Students
are raising pledges for the laps they run (between 26 and 36, 36-lap
max). Each lap is 1/16th of a
mile. For instance, $1 per lap means $30 dollars to our school if the
student runs 30 laps. Our class has a goal of reaching $2 per lap for
each student.
Here's
the important part! The majority of the
funds raised this year will go to our school a marquee. However, the school has promised that an
additional 10% of whatever we raise in each class goes directly to that teacher
to use in their own classroom. (math and literacy games!!).
Please
help us reach our goal by talking to family and friends about pledging for your

I hope you've heard your child talk about using GoNoodle.com in our classroom. We use this free website of interactive videos to help us get the wiggles out, focus, dance, stretch, practice mindfulness, and much more!
This summer, GoNoodle is launching a free summer program called Camp GoNoodle that helps kids stay active, use their imaginations, and explore their world. Each week in July, there will be a set of adventures to complete, two Camp GoNoodle songs to learn, and a badge to earn!
Once you join (totally free), you'll receive an email when the new weekly adventure has arrived. Your child can go to GoNoodle.come to check it out on their own, or you can do the adventures together as a family. Our class loves GoNoodle at school, and I know Camp GoNoodle will be a big hit over the summer too!

Today in Technology, Mr. K taught the students how to use the Chrome books for the first time. The students were so excited!! They practiced location of letters and numbers on the keyboard at www.abcya.com. The end goal will be for each student to type without looking at their fingers!!! Thank you Mr. K for a great lesson!

Sunday is Mother's Day. Today we are celebrating it at school by writing letters and collaborating with peers!

Currently there is no cure for MS. The money that is raised at this event and others like it will be used to find the cause, treatment, and ultimately the cure of multiple sclerosis. The money is also used to provide education, information, direct financial aid, and scholarships to individuals and families living with MS. By sponsoring me you too will MAKE YOUR MARK in this pursuit.

Dora Moore's new counselor, Ms. C came to our class today!
She read a book about friendship and then the students worked on an art activity. The incorporated a sentence and one work to describe what friendship means to them.
We can't wait for her to come back!!!
